Netflix Touts Healthy Engagement Trends

1604 ET - Netflix says engagement is healthy, pointing to particularly strong showings for the series "I Will Find You" and film "Swapped." View hours rose 2% in the first half versus 1.5% growth in 2025, despite competing with the Winter Olympics and World Cup for viewers' attention, the company says. Engagement has become a frequent topic of discussion at the streaming company's meetings lately after signs of declining subscriber engagement, The Wall Street Journal has reported. Executives have discussed adding live channels that would continuously stream certain programs, or shows and films from a certain genre, to bolster engagement, the Journal reported, citing people familiar with the matter. The company has also explored bundling other subscription-based streaming services, including NBCUniversal's Peacock, into its offering. (kelly.cloonan@wsj.com)
