Celcomdigi Likely to Post Higher 2Q Earnings on Revenue Growth, Cost Cuts
Dow Jones
Jul 22
0403 GMT - CelcomDigi's 2Q core net profit could increase 6%-8% on quarter and 1%-3% on year thanks to higher revenue, lower provisions for doubtful debts and ongoing cost savings, CIMB Securities analyst Choong Chen Foong says in a note. The Malaysian company's service revenue is expected to increase owing to improved prepaid subscriber additions and stable-to-higher average revenue per user, he says. Earnings growth could extend into 2028, supported by merger synergies and lower capital spending. CIMB maintains a buy rating on CelcomDigi and maintains its target price at 3.65 ringgit. Shares are 0.3% higher at 2.93 ringgit. (yingxian.wong@wsj.com)
