韩国大型造船企业三星重工周三表示，已与美国工程公司Sargent & Lundy（S&L）签署了一份谅解备忘录，将共同开发海上浮动小型模块化反应堆（FSMR）。
该公司在一份新闻稿中表示，该协议旨在开发一个标准化的FSMR平台，以兼容多种反应堆技术，而非单一类型的反应堆。
三星重工表示：“这将提供无与伦比的灵活性，可集成多种反应堆类型，并为全球客户提供更大的选择自由度，以满足不同反应堆技术的需求。”
此次合作预计将结合三星重工在海上电站工程、采购和建设（EPC）方面的实力，与S&L在核能设计和工程领域的专业能力相结合，从而增强造船商在美国市场的地位。
此次合作有望融合三星重工海上设施工程总承包（EPC）能力与 S&L 公司的核工程设计技术优势，巩固这家造船企业在美国市场的地位。
海上浮动小型模块化反应堆（FSMR）属于新一代浮动核电平台，依靠搭载在浮动载体上的小型模块化反应堆（SMR）进行发电。
