Samsung Electronics Launches Galaxy Card in US; Shares Jump 6%

Samsung Electronics' (KRX:005930) US unit, Samsung Electronics America, launched its first credit card called the Galaxy Card in the U.S., according to a Tuesday release.
The Samsung Galaxy Card, issued by Barclays US Consumer Bank on the Visa network, will take applications from Wednesday, July 22, the release said.
Shoppers can also apply for the card at Samsung retail stores and receive an extra $200 cash bonus after spending $2,000 within the first 90 days of opening the account, it said.
