Zydus Lifesciences (NSE:ZYDUSLIFE, BOM:532321) has received approval to conduct a Phase III clinical trial of Desidustat in patients with sickle cell disease.
The 203-day study, to be conducted in collaboration with the Indian Council of Medical Research, will evaluate the efficacy and safety of Desidustat oral tablets for treating anemia associated with the disease, according to an Indian bourse filing on Thursday.
The trial is expected to enroll 164 patients.
