Wall Street futures pointed moderately higher pre-bell Friday as traders look for tech-sector values after recent routs, and as crude oil prices eased.

In the futures, the S&P 500 advanced 0.2%, the Nasdaq rose 0.1%, and the Dow Jones was up 0.5%.

West Texas Intermediate crude oil traded down 2.3% at $90.03 in morning action.

Investors look forward to the S&P Global flash US composite purchasing managers index (PMI) report for July, slated for release at 9:45 am ET, and a window into how the domestic economy is performing given higher oil prices.

Asian exchanges traded mostly lower overnight, led by a 5.7% decline on Seoul's semiconductor-laden KOSPI Index.

European bourses tracked moderately north at midday on the continent.

American Express (AXP), NextEra Energy (NEE), and Verizon Communications (VZ) plan to report earnings pre-bell, among others.

Also on the economic calendar is the new home sales report for June at 10 am ET, followed by the weekly Baker Hughes domestic oil-and-gas rig count at 1 pm.

In pre-market action, Bitcoin traded at $64,982, and 10-year US Treasuries offered 4.68%. Spot gold commanded $4,061 an ounce.
