India's Manufacturing Activity Slows in July, Flash PMI Shows

Manufacturing activity in India contracted in July, with the HSBC Flash India Manufacturing PMI falling to 53.9 from 54.2 the previous month, according to preliminary data from S&P Global released on Friday.

A reading above 50 indicates expansion in the sector, while a figure below signals a contraction.

The latest performance signals a "below-trend improvement in overall factory conditions," the report said.
