Airbus Estimates Could Get Boost After Positive Business Update

0908 GMT - Airbus delivered a positive midterm business update that could lift consensus estimates in the coming years, UBS analysts write in a note to investors. The European aircraft maker aims for adjusted EBIT between 12 billion euros and 13 billion euros in 2029. The analysts point out that the target is moderately below market expectations of 13.3 billion euros, but say that Airbus management is generally seen as conservative when providing guidance. "We believe consensus estimates are nevertheless likely to see upward revisions." Airbus could decide to increase A350 and A330 production in the second half of 2026 since there is demand for additional deliveries this decade, the analysts say. Airbus shares trade 7.4% higher at 209.00 euros. (mauro.orru@wsj.com)
