Canon H1 Net Profit Up 9.8%

Canon's (TYO:7751) net income attributable to owners of the parent rose 9.8% to 171.18 billion yen for the six months ended June 30 from 155.90 billion yen a year earlier.

The consumer imaging equipment maker's attributable net income per share rose to 197.36 yen from 169.06 yen a year ago, according to a Tokyo bourse filing on Monday.

Net sales jumped 3.5% to 2.275 trillion yen from 2.199 trillion yen in the year-ago period.

For the full year ending Dec. 31, the company expects attributable net income of 340 billion yen, basic attributable net income per share of 398.51 yen and net sales of 4.8 trillion yen.

The company expects to pay a year-end dividend of 80 yen per share for the current fiscal year.
