These Analysts Cut Their Forecasts On American Express Following Q2 Earnings

American Express Co (NYSE:AXP) on Friday reported mixed second-quarter financial results and narrowed its FY26 sales guidance slightly below estimates.

American Express reported quarterly earnings of $4.53 per share which beat the analyst consensus estimate of $4.40 per share. The company reported quarterly sales of $19.637 billion which missed the analyst consensus estimate of $19.694 billion.

American Express narrowed its full-year revenue outlook to $79.45 billion, representing about 10% year-over-year growth, from a prior range of $78.73 billion to $79.45 billion. The updated outlook is slightly below the analyst consensus estimate of $79.49 billion.

The company reaffirmed its full-year earnings guidance of $17.30 to $17.90 per share, compared with the analyst consensus estimate of $17.64.

American Express shares gained 2.7% to trade at $335.15 on Monday.

These analysts made changes to their price targets on American Express following earnings announcement.

  • Evercore ISI Group analyst John Pancari maintained the stock with an In-Line rating and cut the price target from $380 to $370.
  • Morgan Stanley analyst Betsy Graseck maintained the stock with an Equal-Weight rating and lowered the price target from $385 to $382.
