FAA Says 453 Boeing 737 Max Planes Could Need Passenger Seat Inspections

The US Federal Aviation Administration, or FAA, warned that certain Boeing (BA) 737 MAX airplanes registered in the US may need detailed inspections of its passenger seat assemblies, according to a Monday statement.
The FAA proposed a new airworthiness directive to inspect the jets' seat track fittings and ensure that passenger seats are properly installed. The proposed directive would affect 453 units of Boeing 737-8, 737-9 and 737-8200 jets, the regulator said.
The directive was proposed in response to a report that planes' passenger seats assemblies were not installed in seat tracks and the FAA said it would accept comments on the directive through Sept. 10.
