CIG Shanghai Forms 800 Million Yuan Investment Fund

CIG Shanghai (SHA:603083, HKG:6166) agreed to establish an 800 million yuan investment partnership with Shanghai Zhifengzhizi Private Fund Management, according to a July 24 Hong Kong bourse filing.

The optical communications equipment maker will contribute 800 million yuan as a limited partner, while Shanghai Zhifengzhizi will contribute 10,000 yuan as the general partner.

The partnership will focus on equity investments in unlisted companies in emerging industries, including integrated circuits, artificial intelligence, optical components and core chip technologies. It may also invest in private placements and block trades of listed companies within the same industry chain.

CIG Shanghai said the partnership will be consolidated as its subsidiary upon completion.
