谷歌旗下自动驾驶公司Waymo的无人驾驶出租车车队在实际运营中遭遇了新的挑战。自2024年在得克萨斯州奥斯汀市推出服务以来，其车辆已累计收到83张停车罚单，罚款总额达9325美元。
根据媒体获取的公开记录，截至今年7月中旬，Waymo已支付7433美元罚款，仍有1892美元未缴纳。违规行为主要集中在违反停车规定，包括在拖车禁停区停车、未支付计时停车费以及双排停车等。其中最大的一张罚单高达519美元，原因是车辆占用了残疾人专用车位。
Waymo目前在奥斯汀运营着超过300辆无人驾驶出租车。在两次载客任务之间，部分车辆会选择停靠在公共停车位等待订单，这被认为是导致违规行为频发的原因之一。
对于这些罚单，Waymo发言人表示，公司不会要求特殊待遇，会像普通驾驶者一样处理。同时，公司也会审查每一张罚单，如果认为处罚有误，将依法提出申诉。此事也引发了外界对自动驾驶汽车如何在实际道路环境中遵守复杂交通法规的关注。
