Honda Motor (HMC) unit Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India will prefer ethanol-blended gasoline over battery-powered two-wheelers as part of efforts to decarbonize its local lineup, Bloomberg reported Friday, citing CEO of the Indian two-wheeler unit, Tsutsumu Otani.

Honda is exploring flex-fuel options, including gasoline blended with 85% ethanol and 100% ethanol, as well as advanced internal combustion engines, Otani said at a recent event, according to the media outlet.

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
