边缘AI芯片提供商BrainChip近日宣布，其基于Akida神经形态处理器的AKD1500芯片现已推出紧凑型M.2模块，为工业与商业设计提供无风扇、即插即用的边缘AI解决方案。

　　边缘AI芯片指的是专门设计在本地设备（而非云端服务器）上运行人工智能算法的处理器。

　　这款新模块采用M.2 2230规格，是目前最小的标准尺寸之一，配备B+M key接口。其设计旨在让硬件工程师能以极低成本将设备端AI添加到现有系统中，而无需重新设计供电或散热方案，从而将原本需要多个季度的硬件改造简化为即插即用的升级。

　　AKD1500基于纯数字、事件驱动的神经形态架构，处理数据时仅响应“脉冲”或事件触发，避免了传统AI芯片始终开启的计算能耗。在性能方面，该芯片在PCIe模式下的功耗低于300毫瓦，串行模式下低于200毫瓦，即可提供接近每秒万亿次运算的效率。这意味着它可以集成到依赖电池供电的工业传感器和便携设备中，而无须依赖主动散热风扇。

　　BrainChip首席产品官表示，功耗和成本一直是AI进入无风扇工业设备和电池供电商业设备的两个最大障碍，而这款M.2模块正是为此而生，工程团队可以无需改动电源或散热方案即可为现有设计增添AI能力。该模块现已通过BrainChip官方在线商店发售。
