消息面上，据市场媒体报道，美军中央司令部当地时间7月29日发表声明称，美军正持续执行对伊朗的海上封锁行动。截至当天，美军已累计改变20艘商船的航行路线，并导致2艘船只失去行动能力。此举表明美方在海湾地区的军事压力仍在持续，霍尔木兹海峡及相关航道的紧张局势未见缓和。此外，美国总统特朗普表示，因伊朗向中东地区的美军发射导弹，美国“要给予伊朗沉重打击”，同时计划在相关法案中新增条款，授权美国对伊朗征收关税。
截至7月29日，布伦特原油期货9月合约结算价收涨7.91%，报90.74美元/桶。巴克莱银行分析师指出，在石油库存处于近年来低点、战略石油储备释放大部分已经完成的情况下，围绕霍尔木兹海峡的冲突再度升级对能源价格构成重大上行风险。瑞银分析师则表示，中东军事打击行动重燃，且伊朗官员重申有意控制霍尔木兹海峡的航运活动(尽管目前经由该海峡的石油流量已大幅减少)，这些因素再次推高了油价。
