1447 GMT - London's FTSE 100 hit its first record since February earlier Wednesday, as gains for oil majors and consumer-facing companies push the index higher. The index rises 0.3% after previously jumping as much as 0.7%, briefly topping its record close of 10,910.55. That level was hit Feb. 27, just before the U.S. and Israel launched attacks on Iran. A rout in AI stocks is benefiting the index, as "investors directed capital toward technology-light indices," Swissquote's Ipek Ozkardeskaya writes. The index is now up 9.7% for the year, beating out both the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq 100, which are up 7.8% and 9.4% for the year, respectively.
