美国总统唐纳德·特朗普周五在与矿业高管的会议上力推美国在关键矿产开采领域的30亿美元投资，旨在帮助美国摆脱依赖。
特朗普在美国国务院举行的活动上表示，这些项目将“创造数千个就业岗位，并促进我们的经济稳定和安全”。“我们正让我们的矿工重返岗位，重塑美国作为全球矿产超级大国的应有地位，”他补充说。
特朗普表示，这些投资包括美国国防部战略资本办公室与Sila Nanotechnologies Inc．达成14亿美元贷款协议。其他投资还包括五角大楼出资4亿美元在澳大利亚扩大钪生产，这种元素对航空航天和国防工业至关重要，以及向明尼苏达州稀土企业Niron Magnetics Inc．投资1.5亿美元。
美国进出口银行还在推动为美国艾芬豪电气位于亚利桑那州的Santa Cruz铜矿项目提供逾10亿美元融资，以及投资2500万美元启动阿拉巴马州石墨矿项目。
特朗普还赞扬投入逾1.8亿美元加强矿业教育项目的计划，称这将“培养下一代美国矿工”。
他表示，这些举措将确保美国“未来不再依赖敌对国家提供美国保持领先地位所需的资源”。
