路透8月7日 - 据彭博社周五援引知情人士的话报道，阿什兰公司（Ashland） ASH.N 正在与花旗集团（Citigroup） C.N 和拉扎德（Lazard） LAZ.N 合作，探讨潜在的出售方案，此前该公司收到了一位激进投资者的收购意向。
报道称，包括Advent、阿波罗全球管理公司 APO.N、凯雷集团 CG.O 和标准工业公司 STDI.NS 在内的私募股权公司均已与这家化工制造商进行了接触。
路透（(link)）6月曾独家报道称，激进投资者安科拉替代投资（Ancora Alternatives）已在阿什兰 持有大量股份，并 希望该公司考虑出售事宜。
在此事态发展之后，阿什兰于7月与安科拉达成和解，并根据协议任命了两名新董事。
随着并购活动激增，激进投资者正敦促企业出售全部或部分业务，给董事会和管理层带来了新的压力。
阿波罗、阿什兰、花旗、标准工业和拉扎德尚未立即回应路透的置评请求，而凯雷和Advent则拒绝置评。
