DoubleVerify's (DV) acquisition by Nielsen "makes sense," given its focus on data within the space, as Nielsen noted that it is looking to expand measurement deeper into digital channels, RBC Capital Markets said in a Friday note.
Under the deal terms, DoubleVerify shareholders will get $13.60 per share in cash, representing a 30% premium over the stock's 60-day volume-weighted average price, RBC said, adding that the deal price is roughly in line with its price target on DoubleVerify.
Noting the company's results for Q2, RBC said that the DoubleVerify's Activation segment weighed more on the business than expected, with the vertical previously seeing headwinds from retail that seemed to be stable into Q1.
RBC lowered its rating on the company's stock to sector perform from outperform and adjusted its price target to $13.60 from $14.
