Shanghai Shyndec Pharmaceutical (SHA:600420) subsidiary Jiangsu Weichida Pharmaceutical received marketing application approval from China's National Medical Products Administration for its vonoprazan fumarate active pharmaceutical ingredient.
The drug is a potassium-competitive acid blocker mainly used to treat reflux esophagitis and Helicobacter pylori infections. It prevents acid production and upper gastrointestinal mucosal damage, the company said in its filing on Wednesday.
