IT之家 8 月 4 日消息，据央视新闻今日报道，中国天眼 FAST 近期迎来硬核升级。曾受制进口的馈源舱牵引钢丝绳现已实现全面国产化，而牵引馈源舱更换的钢丝绳就相当于天眼的“眼部肌肉”。
据介绍，此次更换的 6 根钢丝绳是 FAST 索驱动系统的核心部件。馈源舱作为“中国天眼”接收宇宙电磁波信号的核心构件，重达 30 吨，如同“观天巨眼”的“眼球”。这 6 根钢丝绳则负责牵引馈源舱，使其能在 140 米高空、直径 206 米的范围内完成实时超高精度定位。
据介绍，中国天眼如今重装上阵开启新一轮深空观测。目前，FAST 已发现近 1300 颗脉冲星，远超同期国际上其他望远镜总和。
IT之家注：中国天眼 500 米口径球面射电望远镜 FAST 利用贵州喀斯特地区的洼坑作为望远镜台址建造，由我国天文学家南仁东于 1994 年提出构想，历时 22 年建成，于 2016 年 9 月 25 日落成启用，是目前世界上口径最大、灵敏度最高的单口径射电望远镜，拥有 30 个标准足球场大的接收面积。
