2343 GMT - General insurer Suncorp's capital management plan looks good to Jefferies. Suncorp plans to buy back shares worth up to 250 million Australian dollars in FY27, building on some A$400 million of stock repurchases in FY26. Jefferies analyst Simon Fitzgerald says this program is assisted by a A$107 million capital benefit from placing aggregate cover and deferred proceeds from the early 2025 sale of its New Zealand life insurance business to Resolution Life. Suncorp also said it would pay a A$0.10/share special dividend on top of its A$0.52/share ordinary final dividend. Jefferies had a hold call and A$19.75/share price target ahead of Suncorp's annual result. Suncorp ended Tuesday at A$18.56.
