路透8月11日 - 据彭博社周二报导，加利福尼亚州一名法官初步驳回了一项请求，该请求要求南加州爱迪生公司（Edison International EIX.N 的子公司）对伊顿野火造成的数十亿美元财产损失承担自动赔偿责任。
据报导，洛杉矶县高等法院法官塞格尔（Laura Seigle）驳回了保险公司的请求，这些公司曾寻求裁定，根据加州一项法律（该法律规定，当公用事业公司的设备引发火灾时，公用事业公司应自动承担责任），SCE应对此负责。
此前数日，洛杉矶县火灾调查人员表示，2025年1月发生的伊顿大火是由一座已停用的SCE输电塔产生的电弧引发的，该火灾造成 (link) 19人死亡，数千栋房屋被毁。
“是的，我们同意这一初步裁决。我们的首要目标是支持阿尔塔迪纳社区的恢复和重建工作，”SCE发言人艾森豪尔（David Eisenhauer）对路透表示。
因伊顿大火，SCE正面临来自企业、个人、政府机构及保险公司的998起诉讼。
