Oracle (ORCL) said Wednesday its artificial intelligence-backed patient portal is now generally available in the US, which links directly with electronic health records to help users access medical files or contact care providers.

The software connects directly with electronic health records to display visit highlights, key conditions, medications, and tests, the company said.

Built-in safeguards restrict the artificial intelligence from offering medical advice or diagnoses, directing patients to consult healthcare providers or emergency services, Oracle said.

Shares of the company were up 2.9% in Wednesday trading.
