Elixir Energy Secures AU$5 Million Through Placement; Shares Fall 10%

Elixir Energy (ASX:EXR) secured firm commitments to raise AU$5 million through the placement of 125 million new shares at AU$0.04 each, backed by new and existing institutional and sophisticated investors, according to a Wednesday Australian bourse filing.
Settlement is expected on Aug. 19, with the new shares scheduled to be allotted on Aug. 20, per the filing.
The proceeds will be used to complete the 60-day soak and second phase of flow testing at Lorelle-3H, undertake artificial lift and flow testing at Diona-1 subject to joint venture approval, and initiate the company's strategic review, the filing said.
The company's shares fell 10% in recent Wednesday trade.
