消息面上，霍尔木兹海峡风险推高油轮租船成本，中东航线日费逼近50万美元。但Clarksons Securities分析师指出，愿意深入霍尔木兹海峡内部装货的船东正在攫取高额的稀缺溢价，若选择在海峡外的阿曼湾装货驶往亚洲，船舶的日均租金收益则明显偏低——约为14.7万美元。
中银国际发布研报称，中东航线新增货量有限，在两大海峡通行依旧受限的情况下，并非所有船东都愿意承担相关风险，符合条件的可用船位相对有限，为湾内货盘提供了风险溢价支撑，不同装港之间的风险溢价分化进一步扩大。此外，大西洋航线新增货盘明显减少，不足以支撑运价持续快速上涨。
