Life360 shares were lower after the company maintained its outlook, despite logging better-than-expected results in the second quarter.

The stock slid 21% to $51.00 in premarket trading Tuesday. Through the previous close, shares were roughly flat this year.

The company, which gives customers a way to share their locations via their mobile phones, recorded higher revenue and profit than analysts were expecting, according to FactSet. Monthly active users were in line with Wall Street estimates.

Still, the company maintained its full-year guidance, which some investors are seeing as a lack of confidence in performance during the second half of the year.

Life360 raised its guidance for subscription revenue by $5 million on either end of the range, and lowered its guidance for hardware revenue by the same amount, resulting in an unchanged total consolidated revenue outlook.

There are still a lot of unknowns about how the health of the consumer will evolve throughout the rest of the year, given macroeconomic volatility, Chief Executive Lauren Antonoff said in an interview earlier Tuesday.

The company was delayed earlier this year in speeding up its monthly active user growth, so its growth in the second quarter was catching up to the goals it had previously set, executives told analysts on a call.

"I wouldn't say this is sort of like a major outperformance, it's performing now according to plan," Antonoff told analysts.
