Swiss biotech company Vaderis Therapeutics said it raised $152 million in a funding round jointly led by Goldman Sachs Alternatives' life-sciences arm and healthcare investor TCG Crossover that will help it start a late-stage study for its lead drug.

Omega Funds, EQT Life Sciences, Perceptive Advisors and Kalehua Capital also participated in the round, alongside existing investors Medicxi and Droia, Vaderis said Tuesday.

The company said the new funding should cover its capital needs through the potential U.S. regulatory approval of its lead product, engasertib, an experimental drug for a rare genetic vascular disorder called hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia.

Vaderis is starting a phase 3 trial of engasertib, which showed improvements across multiple measures of the disease in patients with HHT in earlier studies, it said.
