芝加哥联储行长奥斯坦·古尔斯比表示，近期通胀降温令他受到鼓舞，但他希望在未来几个月看到更多类似迹象，以确认通胀在向美联储2%的目标水平回落。

　　古尔斯比周五接受采访时表示，今年夏天消费者价格指数的通胀数据令人乐观，表明过去一年关税和油价上涨等因素造成的部分价格冲击正在经济中逐步消化。

　　“不过，鉴于此前有五六个月的走势方向不对，而且总体通胀水平仍然过高，最近三个月的数据令我受到鼓舞，”古尔斯比表示。“如果我们能连续三四个月看到类似6月的数据，我会更加确信我们在回到2%目标的道路上。”

　　古尔斯比表示支持7月会议维持利率不变的决定，并称目前最担心的问题是通胀。至于经济增长和劳动力市场，他表示美国经济“基本稳定”。

　　过去数十年高通胀的历史经验，以及新冠疫情后的物价压力——2022年通胀率一度突破7%，且五年多来一直未达到目标——令古尔斯比在应对当前问题时更加谨慎。

　　“我确实认为，这两段经历都影响了我目前对政策的思考，让我更加谨慎，也更加关注通胀方面的情况，因为无论是历史经验还是过去五年都表明，一旦通胀形成势头，要消除它可能既痛苦又困难，”他说。
