Brazilian Rare Earths Reports After-Tax NPV of $7.9 Billion in Rocha da Rocha Scoping Study, Shares Up 9%

Brazilian Rare Earths (ASX:BRE) said a scoping study for its Rocha da Rocha Project supports a first-quartile, integrated heavy rare earth-dominant project with an after-tax net present value of $7.9 billion at an 8% discount rate and an after-tax internal rate of return of 89% over a 14-year mine life, according to a Thursday Australian bourse filing.

The company said average annual neodymium-praseodymium oxide production is forecast at 6,351 tonnes in the first five years and 5,276 tonnes over the life of mine, with average annual uranium oxide production of 540 tonnes in the first five years and 362 tonnes over the life of mine.

Average annual revenue is forecast at $1.67 billion, with cash operating costs of $232 million and earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) of $1.37 billion, the filing added.

The company's shares rose 9% in recent Thursday trade.
