U.S. Futures Rise, European Stocks Mostly Up

U.S. futures for the S&P 500 were up 0.1% and futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.1%. Changes in futures do not necessarily predict movements after the opening bell.

In Europe, the Stoxx Europe 600 gained 0.1% in morning trading. Embracer Group Series B climbed 18.3% and Adyen rose 9.5%. On the other hand, Swissquote Group Holding slipped 11.8%, and Lanxess lost 5.6%. The FTSE 100 lost 0.3%. Other stocks in Europe were up as France's CAC 40 increased 0.2% and Germany's DAX rose 0.4%.

The Wall Street Journal Dollar Index was flat at 96.29.

In commodities, Brent crude dropped 0.3% to $88.67 a barrel, and WTI crude fell 0.4% to $82.92 a barrel. The European benchmark price for natural gas, the Dutch futures contract TTF, was down 1.8% to 59.95 euros a megawatt hour.

The German 10-year Bund yield climbed by 1 basis point to 3.181% from 3.174%, and the yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury fell by 1 basis point to 4.685% from 4.701%. Bond prices and yields move in opposite directions.

Stocks in Asia were mixed as Japan's Nikkei 225 index gained 1.2%, whereas Hong Kong's Hang Seng declined 0.4%. China's benchmark Shanghai Composite declined 0.5%.
