Madison Square Garden Sports is currently up more than 6% this week, marking its best weekly performance since May. Shares of the champion Knicks and Rangers owner have gained nearly 110% since this time last year and are up four of the past five days.
Record ticketing revenues from the NBA playoffs and highest-ever team merchandise sales clinched MSG Sports a 37% gain in revenue compared to the prior year quarter.
The company reported that per-game revenues during the playoffs averaged $20.2 million on a recent earnings call. MSG Sports expects nationwide demand for both teams to propel its FY27 growth; the recent championship series was the most watched NBA Finals in 28 years.
"Looking ahead to the upcoming seasons, we are off to a strong start with season ticket renewals. And we expect our combined season ticket renewal rate to once again reach levels above 90%," said Jamaal Lesane, chief operating officer at MSG Sports.
