PHLX Semiconductor Index on Pace to Enter New Bull Market

The PHLX Semiconductor Index is currently up about 20% from its July 29 bear market closing low, headed toward a new bull market.

The index closed at a record on June 22 and fell nearly 29% to its late-July low. Entering a bull market today would end the shortest bear market for the index since early 2020, at 19 trading days. On average, the index spends 54 sessions in a bear market. Six months after exiting its previous bear market in January 2024, the index was up 64%, according to Dow Jones Market Data. After one year: 141%.
