Stocks in Singapore rose Monday, as the FTSE Straits Times Index gained 0.43% to 5768.46.
Among local companies with a market cap of at least 1 billion Singapore dollars ($783.9 million), Bumitama Agri was the biggest leader during the session, jumping 7.0%, and UMS surged 5.5%. Frencken Group rounded out the top three movers, as shares rose 4.9%.
Wilmar International was the biggest laggard, dropping 2.1%, followed by shares of Frasers Property, which fell 1.9%. Shares of Haw Par dropped 1.9%.
On the currency front, the WSJ Dollar Index fell 0.2% to 95.81. The U.S. dollar weakened 0.2% against the Singapore dollar to S$1.28.
In the bond markets, the 10-year Singaporean government bond yield increased 1.5 basis points to 2.300%.
