Barclays (BCS) has hired Mike Joo, a senior Bank of America (BAC) executive, as co-chief executive of its investment bank, the Financial Times reported Monday, citing an internal memo.

Adeel Khan will be promoted to co-CEO alongside Joo, overseeing global markets, according to a memo from Barclays CEO CS Venkatakrishnan, the report said.

Joo will lead investment banking, join the executive committee, and be based in New York, taking up the role in February subject to regulatory approval, the report said.

Barclays did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
