Samsung Electronics (KRX:005930) will launch a record shareholder payout policy exceeding 100 trillion won this month, MoneyToday reported Thursday, citing industry sources.

The company's board of directors will conduct a meeting by mid-August to approve the policy, including special dividends, following record-high results amid the AI-semiconductor supercycle, the report said.

The memory chip producer will allot 50% of its free cash flow for the new measure, according to the report.

The company did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.

Shares of the company rose more than 9% in recent trade.
