Strategy, Coinbase Stocks Rose After Trump Met Crypto Execs

Shares of Bitcoin-related companies rose on Wednesday as cryptocurrency industry leaders met with President Donald Trump at the White House.

Bitcoin's price also rose.

Shares of Strategy, among the world's largest corporate holders of Bitcoin, closed up 12.7% at $104.25, notching their highest close since June 22 and their largest percentage increase since Feb. 6, according to Dow Jones Market Data. Shares traded as high as $106.90 intraday, up 15.5% at the high. It was the best performer in the Nasdaq 100 and the sixth most active stock.

The stock is up 11.7% this month, but down 31.4% this year.

Coinbase Global stock closed up 9.6% at $160.20, its highest close since July 30, and its largest percentage increase since July 21. Shares traded as high as $165.74, up 13.3%. It was the sixth best performer in the S&P 500 on Thursday.

Coinbase is up 9.7% this month, but down 29% this year.

Bitcoin's price was up 6.4%, at $68,681 on Wednesday afternoon.
