Possible Weak U.K. Jobs, Inflation Data Could Support Gilts

0745 GMT - If this week's U.K. jobs data and inflation data are weaker than expected, this could reduce market expectations of the Bank of England raising rates and cause gilt yields to fall, Mizuho's Evelyne Gomez-Liechti says in a note. However, stronger-than-expected data could push up inflation concerns and cause gilt yields to climb notably, she says. Ten-year gilt yields are steady at 5.016%, Tradeweb data show.
