IT之家 8 月 24 日消息，据外媒 Futurism 当地时间 23 日报道，美国成屋签约销售量跌至三年来最低水平，7 月新屋建设也大幅下滑，创三年半以来新低。两项指标同时走弱，显示美国房地产市场正面临明显压力。
居高不下的通胀和停滞的工资增长等因素无疑同时影响着住房供给和需求，AI 数据中心建设热潮也成为加剧困境的新因素。
为支撑 AI 热潮而大规模兴建的数据中心正在争夺建筑业熟练技工，一部分原本可以参与住宅建设的工人因此转向数据中心项目。
美国住宅建筑商协会旗下住宅建筑商学会 CEO 埃德 · 布雷迪指出，美国目前总体缺少熟练技工约 30 万名，而现有的有限劳动力又大量流向科技行业的数据中心建设项目。“房地产市场没有以前那么强劲，所以很多原本从事住宅建设的人现在都去了这些数据中心。”
建筑业劳动力供应从 2008 年大衰退后就一直减少，数据中心建设热潮则进一步加剧了短缺，而且短期内很难扭转。
布雷迪警告称，随着数据中心不断建设，住宅建筑行业面临的问题会越来越严重、越来越迫切，然而用于培养下一代熟练技工的投入，却远远不够。
