【新西兰拟立法禁止未满16岁青少年使用社交媒体】当地时间24日，新西兰总理拉克森在一份声明中表示，新西兰政府将于当天在议会提交法案，禁止16岁以下青少年使用社交媒体。据悉，该法案将要求社交媒体平台采取合理措施核实用户年龄，包括利用现有账户信息、面部识别技术及数字身份证件等进行认证。此外，法案还提议对违规平台处以最高达其全球营收10%的罚款。拉克森表示：“社交媒体正使新西兰儿童接触到有害内容、成瘾性技术以及各种他们无力应对的压力，这正在严重影响他们的家庭生活、心理健康、睡眠及学业。”目前，社交媒体对未成年人的伤害已经在全球范围内引起警觉，禁止低龄人群使用社交媒体的监管风暴正在迅速成形。去年12月，澳大利亚成为第一个禁止16岁以下青少年使用社交媒体的国家。此后，多国政府纷纷加入。马来西亚、土耳其、希腊等国均已制定相关法规或提出同类议案等待议会表决。
