PLS Group (ASX:PLS) said it expects fiscal 2027 spodumene production to be above fiscal 2026, as the company said it remains confident in the long-term opportunity for lithium.

The company expects to produce 1 million to 1.3 million tonnes of spodumene, the ore used to produce lithium, in fiscal 2027, above its fiscal 2026 production of 879,500 tonnes.

The lithium producer on Monday reported AU$0.1614 in earnings per share for fiscal 2026, compared with a loss of AU$0.0633 a year ago and an estimate of AU$0.18 by analysts polled by FactSet.

"We had positioned the business to respond quickly when market conditions improved and, as the lithium market strengthened, we acted, bringing idled capacity back into production and shifting our focus decisively from defence to growth," said Chief Executive Dale Henderson.

The company made AU$1.93 billion in revenue, up from AU$768.9 million last year, while meeting the AU$1.93 billion estimate from Jarden, as well as analysts polled by FactSet.

The company also declared a final dividend of AU$0.05 per share after suspending the dividend in fiscal 2025 as a cost reduction initiative.

Jarden that the company delivered "robust" results as it took advantage of stronger lithium prices to reinvest in the business and add cash to the balance sheet.
