ChainCatcher 消息，据路透社报道，Tether 在乌拉圭投资建设的比特币矿场项目因与当地国有电力公司 UTE 发生电力供应合同纠纷而最终停摆，项目投资规模估计约 1.2 亿美元。双方对合同约定的供电量存在分歧，Tether 认为相关数额是最低保障供应量，而 UTE 则将其视为供电上限。
由于新协议未能签署且电费出现拖欠，UTE 于 2025 年 7 月 25 日切断了两处矿场的电力供应，Tether 随后结束当地业务并裁减大部分员工。乌拉圭项目曾被 Tether 视为进军南美比特币挖矿市场的“第一步”。不过，Tether 仍在继续扩大区域能源与挖矿布局，此前已收购可再生能源企业 Adecoagro 70% 股份，并计划利用其剩余电力开展比特币挖矿。
