Singapore shares snapped their losing streak, ending on a high note on Friday to join a regional rally, with the Straits Times Index ending the session at 5,688.96, up 17.05 points or 0.3% in the green.

On the corporate front, shares of TSH Resources were up nearly 4% at the close as its subsidiaries, Planet Spirits and The Other Roof, agreed to acquire certain assets of whisky bar operator The Auld Alliance for up to SG$2 million.

Medi Lifestyle (SGX:Z4D) closed over 2% lower as it received a listing and quotation notice from the Singapore Exchange for up to 178.6 million new shares.

Meanwhile, ComfortDelGro's (SGX:C52) Zig mobility platform will invest more than SG$10 million to expand its private hire vehicle fleet with BYD electric and hybrid vehicles. The stock ticked down 0.07% at close.

Looking ahead to the next week, investors await the latest industrial production and inflation numbers.

"July CPI inflation is expected to accelerate sharply, driven by electricity tariff adjustments. The pass-through of higher utility costs is likely to extend to core inflation amid increased prices for retail goods and services," ING said in a note.
