Singapore Shares Open Weak Amid Dampened Sentiment on Wall Street

Singapore shares opened lower on Thursday, taking negative cues from Wall Street after hotter-than-expected U.S. inflation figures dampened investor risk appetite.
The Straits Times Index (STI) shed 35.40 points, or 0.61%, to open at 5,686.15.
Investors remain cautious as they look for signals from the U.S. Federal Reserve on the trajectory of monetary easing, with persistent price pressures reducing expectations for immediate interest rate cuts.
