知情人士透露，委内瑞拉正在认真研究退出石油输出国组织（OPEC）的计划。作为60多年前参与创建OPEC的国家之一，委内瑞拉如果退出，将再度打击这个石油生产国组织。
部分知情人士表示，退出OPEC的想法已经成为委内瑞拉与美国官员讨论的话题，但目前尚未作出最终决定。因涉及未公开信息，他们要求不具名。白宫发言人暂未置评，委内瑞拉政府也未回应置评请求。
自特朗普政府推翻委内瑞拉长期领导人尼古拉斯·马杜罗并掌控该国石油销售以来，加拉加斯与华府的关系迅速深化。就在四个月前，阿联酋宣布退出OPEC，已经对该组织的团结及其影响原油价格的能力构成冲击。
媒体此前报道称，美国正与委内瑞拉商谈获得该国油田的股权。
委内瑞拉曾是OPEC的重要成员，但近年来随着美国制裁和国内经济危机重创石油行业，其在该组织中的影响力已经减弱。彭博调查显示，该国7月原油日产量为116万桶，不到十年前的一半，不过今年以来产量有所回升。
鉴于产量大幅下降，委内瑞拉退出OPEC可能不会立即对全球石油市场造成太大影响。
