8月26日10时30分左右，因尼泊尔一侧发生泥石流灾害，造成西藏日喀则市吉隆县吉隆口岸重大人员伤亡、失联。

灾害发生后，金融监管总局迅速指导银行业保险业和属地金融监管局全力做好灾害应急处置和保险理赔服务等工作。根据金融监管总局工作部署，西藏金融监管局派出工作组赴灾害现场，有关保险机构立即启动应急预案，开展承保情况摸排，配合地方党委政府和有关部门做好灾害应对处置有关工作。

根据灾情进展和保险业应对灾害事故处置工作机制，金融监管总局启动保险业二级救灾应急响应，同时指导银行业做好相关金融保障服务工作。
