高盛集团表示，经霍尔木兹海峡运输的石油出口量已恢复至战前水平的约三分之二，这在一定程度上限制了伊朗冲突对全球原油价格的冲击。
包括Daan Struyven和Yulia Zhestkova Grigsby在内的高盛分析师在报告中表示，经由霍尔木兹海峡运输的原油和石油产品出口总量已回升至每日1500万至1600万桶。虽然这一水平仍较冲突爆发前低约700万至800万桶，但已显著高于3月份每日500万至600万桶的低谷。
高盛表示：“专业航运运营商增加‘暗船航行’以及船对船转运活动，表明产油国和航运企业正在适应中东冲突带来的影响。”报告指出，即便中东地区的供应扰动持续更长时间，暗船运输规模的上升也可能“限制原油价格的上行空间”。
由于油轮经常关闭卫星应答器以避免被追踪，亦即所谓的“暗船航行”，因此霍尔木兹海峡实际原油运输量很难准确统计。国际油价已从4月份每桶120美元以上回落至目前约89美元。
