SL Science (SLBT) said Thursday that its licensor, JY BioMed, filed a new drug master file with the US Food and Drug Administration covering exosomes derived from Gamma Delta T, or GDT, cells.
The company said the filing, numbered 044612, adds manufacturing and quality documentation for the cell-free exosome format of the GDT technology, potentially streamlining regulatory work for future programs.
SL Science said the exosomes could have potential applications in oncology, including brain cancer, as preclinical research suggests they can trigger tumor cell death, stimulate immune responses and cross the blood-brain barrier.
