路透8月25日 - 自动驾驶技术公司Waymo周二表示，将在未来几周内开始在慕尼黑测试其自动驾驶汽车，为在德国推出商业网约车服务奠定基础，该公司计划于2027年底左右推出该服务。

Waymo表示，其车辆初期将由驾驶员手动驾驶穿行于慕尼黑街头，以绘制当地道路地图，并由受过专业培训的自动驾驶专家在驾驶座上进行测试。
这家隶属于Alphabet的公司表示，测试期将有助于其自动驾驶系统在商业运营开始前适应慕尼黑的驾驶环境。
该公司表示，目前已就其在德国提供服务所需的监管审批事宜，与地方、州及联邦官员展开了磋商。
Waymo表示，在筹备慕尼黑业务启动期间，计划投资当地车队运营并创造高技能就业岗位。
优步（Uber） UBER.N、Verne 和 Pony.ai PONY.O 上周在萨格勒布 (link) 推出了自动驾驶出行服务，使这座克罗地亚首都成为欧洲首个用户可通过优步应用预订自动驾驶车辆的城市。
Waymo 今年早些时候以1260亿美元的估值筹集了 160亿美元资金 ，用于扩展其机器人出租车业务。
